What is Neurofeedback?

Neurofeedback (EEG biofeedback) is a cutting edge intervention that helps the brain to balance itself. Neurofeedback technology gives the brain information about its own electrical output, in the form of visual and auditory feedback, which shows the brain how to function more efficiently. Nature loves balance, efficiency, harmony, and rhythm, and the brain responds accordingly. Our brain learns to how to repeat these efficient states on its own, resulting in clients feeling more happy, calm, focused, confident, energetic, agreeable, creative, and present. Neurofeedback is completely painless and noninvasive, nothing comes into the brain. And it can be fun! For more information visit the International Society of Neuroregulation & Research.

What is Hypnosis and Metaphor Therapy?

Hypnosis is focused attention, metaphor is story-telling, and guided imagery combines these two for healing the mind. The common denominator… the words the therapist uses, words to effect both mental and physical changes.

Metaphor therapy within Hypnosis is an indirect method which is more conscious and more collaborative than traditional hypnosis. Since everyone is unique, your story allows your therapist to tailor an approach for you.

This therapeutic method can be more effective because it uses your own story to access memories and experiences with less resistance.  You are an integral part of your healing process.

What is Teletherapy?

What is teletherapy? Teletherapy is therapy through a live video connection, over the internet. Teletherapy provides the same treatment the therapist would deliver as an in-person session. Licensed therapists use traditional therapy techniques and activities just through a computer. If you’ve ever used Skype on your computer or FaceTime on your iPhone, you are already familiar with the same type of technology teletherapy uses. Teletherapy overcomes barriers such as distance, transportation, and mobility.

What is Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP)?

Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) is an experiential form of psychotherapy that involves equines (horses). The horse acts as a living feedback mechanism, providing the client and the therapist with information regarding the client's moods and changes within those moods.

Prior knowledge or experience with horses is not required, as individuals or groups will work with a licensed and qualified mental health professional, in conjunction with an equine specialist. The therapist uses handling, grooming, and other activities with specially trained horses as part of psychological treatment for those with emotional and behavioral problems.

What is Art therapy?

Art therapy is a form of expressive therapy that uses the creative process of making art to improve a person's physical, mental, and emotional well-being..

No artistic talent is necessary for art therapy to succeed because the process is not about the artistic value of the work, but rather about finding associations between the creative choices made.

What is Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)?

Emotional Freedom Techniques is an emotional healing modality based on the idea that the cause of negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system.

Essentially, Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), is a form of "psychological acupressure". The approach relieves symptoms by tapping on various body locations. This tapping balances energy meridians that become disrupted when we think about or experience an emotionally disturbing circumstance. Once balanced, the upset is usually resolved - the memory stays but the emotional charge is gone.

Typically the lasting result is also accompanied by positive changes in thinking.
